New domain – update feeds, bookmarks etc!!

12 May

Hi everyone,

I promise this is the last time I move anything! I have relocated this blog to http://theredwren.com because I prefer having a non-hyphenated domain. It looks the same and has all my previous content etc.

I’m not sure how feeds will work once I put a redirect on this domain so- if you’d like to keep following me, head on over to The Red Wren and either click on ‘Follow Me’ in my sidebar, or add me using the RSS icon in the address bar (or however else you do it!).

Sorry for the inconvenience! Hope to see you there!!

Here’s some interesting fungus seen in Croydon last weekend.

The Stitches and Craft Show

10 May

On Saturday my sister and I went to the Stitches and Craft Show… wasn’t it fun!! I got to meet some lovely bloggers, saw lots of fun things and of course bought fabric….

Purchases!

Not a great photo – clockwise from left:

Hooray!!

Now to get sewing – my sister saw my fabric stash when we got home and commented that it is a little out of control and perhaps I didn’t need the above!

Cider Festival

2 May

Today Col and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary at the Kellybrook Winery Cider Festival!

It was lots of fun! Cider, more cider, apple themed desserts, pork and apple rolls, mulled cider….did I mention there was cider?

I suspect these apples were pressed for juice.

dancers

These are the Britannia Morris Dancers. It looks like lots of fun!

Col with mulled cider – a few too many cloves in it for my liking.

apples

Lots of apples! I quite like the crates.

All in all, a wonderful day!

Stitching

18 Apr

I had a couple of friends over today for a craft afternoon. The last few have largely revolved around granny squares, so I thought I’d break out the DMC.

stitch

The bike is a patch for my husband’s satchel. It sort of resembles his Surly Big Dummy.

The tea cup is the first of a series I’ll be doing using A Print a Day’s gorgeous drawings. I think they’ll become a sort of patchwork cushion when done.
