I noticed while harvesting the tomatoes that they look like little hearts!

A few weeks ago I showed you the tomatoberries! Well – there’s piles of the now. The blue container is today’s yield! Do not be fooled though – the fruit may be tiny but the plant is a huge monster held up by five stakes!

I planted a ‘tomatoberry’ tomato this year, named for the small strawberry shaped tomatoes.

It’s been a real success, every morning I’m bringing in a handful of tomatoes and there’s many more to come!

Wow- I am so many posts behind after having such a frantic December. We planted seeds a few months ago and for nearly two months – nothing happened! After a good soak in the December rains, they appeared!

Aren’t they fun! The pumpkins in the first two shots are the same plants a few weeks apart. The seeds just happen to be the ones from the pumpkin I made pumpkin pie with! I didn’t think they’d grow when I stuck them in the ground.

The instructions on the sage said ’sow in punnets’ so I did, however you’ll note the sage in photo 2 isn’t much smaller than the ones in photos 8. 4 are sown into the ground roughly 4 weeks ago, 8 into a pot nearly two months ago! Into the ground straight away from now on I say!

We harvested some veggies last weekend. Carrots, potatoes and leeks! We also got the dirt for our new veggie patches and planted some things. The one below is the herb bed. The parsley has been transplanted from the larger bed in the background and is looking a bit limp a few days on, but the herbs are doing well. There’s more to go in once our seeds start sprouting!

I didn’t get out in the garden this weekend – cleaning the house had my name on it instead. My husband got out there and started to put the new veggie beds in! Very exciting.

Here he is removing some weeds from last years patch so we can put some new things in.

Anyone know what flower this is? Mum gave me some bulbs that have finally flowered, only I don’t know what they are! Pretty though.
